Five Places in Jacksonville to Celebrate Galentine’s Day

Whether you are single or in a relationship, Galentine’s Day is a great time to celebrate friendship. Although there is not an official date to celebrate Galentine’s, it is often celebrated on February 13. As the holiday approaches and you are thinking of ideas to go where your gal pals, I have curated a list of restaurants I highly recommend celebrating at. These restaurants are not listed in any particular order. Each and every one is equally recommended.

1. Posting House

Cheers to the new Sugar and Spice cocktail!

Located in San Marco, Posting House is an adorable wine bar with a private back room. Serving wine, beer, and sharable appetizers, this is a great spot to unwind after a long day with your best friends. They are open from Tuesday through Sunday beginning at 2:00 pm, with Mondays being reserved for their wine club events.

If you want to celebrate Galentine’s Day without the stress of planning, Posting House will be hosting their own Galentine’s event on Tuesday, February 13th.

This event will begin at 6:00 pm and include special menu offerings including the launch of their “Sugar and Spice” cocktail. Bubbly Gusti will be offering complimentary tastings of their French rosé (which is also an ingredient in the Sugar and Spice cocktail).

Attendees will also be entered in a giveaway to win a private wine tasting for you and your friends. Wine glass charms will also be given away to attendees (it’s like a friendship bracelet charm for your wine glass!)

And of course, there will be a photo booth to capture memories from your girl’s night out.

Follow Posting House on Instagram for more information and photos regarding their Galentine’s Day Event.

2. The District SPR

Wednesday’s Happy Hour Special: Drink Sampler for $20

Whether you are a happy hour or brunch type of gal, The District has it all. Located in the Springfield area, this adorable restaurant and bar is full of Instagrammable moments.

If you are coming here for brunch with a large group, outdoor tents are available to reserve. Certain reservations are a $25 fee along with a $200 minimum spend (which is only $25 a person if you bring a group of 8). It’s like having your own private dining room!

Happy Hour runs from 3:00 pm-7:00 pm Monday through Friday. Certain appetizers and entrees are discounted during this time (yes, you heard me, select entrees are discounted during happy hour)!

In addition to happy hour, this restaurant advertises daily specials. I came here on a Wednesday when a cocktail flight of four is $20. One of my friends ordered this, expecting it to be a little sampler. We were both taken aback when our server brought out four full cocktails. This is a great sharable for two!

3. The Mini Bar Donuts & Coffee

Espresso buttercream, mint chocolate chips, and lemon poppy donuts

If you are looking for a casual breakfast or brunch with your besties, I highly recommend The Mini Bar. This coffee and donut shop has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with rustic vibes. The food options are limited to donuts and kolaches, but these donuts are worth the hype. To maximize your brunch experience, beer and wine is served in addition to coffee and tea.

All of the donuts are made to order, so they are served warm and fresh. Many of their menu items are Instagram-worthy, and they taste just as amazing as they look. I tried their lemon poppy, espresso buttercream, and mint chocolate chips donuts. Their lemon poppy and mint chip flavors had the perfect amount of frosting and were full of flavor!

If you are on a time crunch but still want to celebrate Galentine’s Day, I highly recommend The Mini Bar!

4. River and Post

Pickle Pizza (This is a must try if you are a pickle lover!)

For great views, cute photos, and yummy food, River and Post is the place to be! This restaurant has a main dining room, outdoor dining, and a rooftop. Their main dining room serves brunch, lunch, and dinner, and is more on the fancy side.

Their rooftop serves bar bites with high-top seating and couches for larger groups. I tried both their dinner and rooftop menu, and I definitely recommend the rooftop. Don’t let the word “bar bites” fool you, these are decent-sized portions. Their flatbread is big enough to be a meal for one, but many of the items can be shared.

Many of their menu items are unique, as you can tell by the pickle pizza in the photo. If you are a pickle lover, I highly recommend giving this flatbread a try! The Bloody Mary shrimp is another crowd pleaser and great for sharing.

Wine, beer, cocktails, and mocktails are also served here. This is a great spot to watch the sunset and chat with your besties.

5. Coastal Wine Market

If you are trying to recreate a Hallmark Movie with your besties, look no further! Coastal Wine Market is located in Nocatee, so if you are in St. Augustine or South Jacksonville, the location is perfect. If this is not the closest spot for you, I can tell you that it is worth the drive.

This wine and tapas bar is unlike any other. It boasts a comfortable, living room vibe with candles on each table. Things are a bit quieter here, which gives the perfect opportunities to share some wine, charcuterie, or tapas and chat with your gal pals.

Happy Hour is offered from 4-6 pm every Wednesday through Saturday and from 4-9 pm every Tuesday. Happy Hour includes $3 off wine pours, $2 off craft beer offerings, and $5 off tapas plates.

I definitely recommend getting a charcuterie board and some tapas to share while you enjoy your wine.
